News 10th August 2009 - Mark Miller – TT Iceman Trophy winner 2009
'Hello folks.... A belated update on the 2009 IOM TT Iceman Trophy. Mark Miller, this years IOM TT Iceman trophy winner, is the 3rd American to win this award which just goes to show that the talent from across the pond is in no short supply. Mark has come close to being the Iceman winner on a few occasions recently and it was with great pleasure I witnessed the legendary Murray Walker present Mark with his just reward at the TT presentation awards. All through race week Mark had performedexceptionally well around the demanding 27 and 3/4 mile mountain course and as folk would do well to understand, these roads are still relatively alien to our foreign friends and it is testament to their ability that they can come over here every year and perform to these unbelievable standards on a bike. The Trophy goes from strength to strength and for the second year running, the Isle of Man Tourism Board have provided the base prize fund of £500.00 and should be appleaded for their committment to what is effectively the only foreign rider award available. This years prize fund was also enhanced by an additional £100.00 each contribution from myself and my good friend Wilson Craig giving Mark a well deserved £700.00 to assist his 2009 TT efforts.
I will close by thanking the above sponsors once again for their support of a very worthwhile cause in honour of my dear departed friend, Joakim Karlsson....the Iceman!
yours in sport
