The 2006 Isle of Man TT Iceman Trophy was awarded to American road racer Jeremy Toye for his outstanding performances this year on the Martin Bullock Racing machinery.

This years TT Iceman Trophy is the first of hopefully many awards in remembrance of Joakim Karlsson, a Swedish rider who lost his life at last years TT practice. Joakim was a foreign rider who travelled far to compete at the most exhilarating motorcycle racing events on the Isle of Man and Ireland. His attitude was an example to us all and it will be preserved in the essence of this Trophy in his name.

Jeremy attended the Hailwood Foundation on the Island earlier in the year and has built on the tuition and advice from the many experts on hand who ensure all newcomers receive the best possible preparation for what is arguably the greatest test of pure road racing on the planet.

Jeremy Toye prepared for and met this challenge head on, riding under the careful eye of Martin Bullock Racing, gradually becoming more familiar with the demanding circuit and increasing his times in all his outings resulting in a brilliant 20 th place in the final day's Senior TT race… with a final lap of over 120mph average earning him this years Iceman Trophy in recognition of his achievements.

The TT Iceman Trophy was supported this year by Colin Moore whose invaluable help in organising the prize money and the presentation was amazing, considering his own workload and hectic schedule in looking after his own rider at this years races.

Thanks must also go to Malcolm McDonald of www.ttwebsite.com who supplied the £500 prize award at late notice. A further £150 is being donated to the Injured Riders Fund in Joakim's name.

A big thanks also to Brian Farrell of www.tuttiwebs.ie for the donation and maintenance of the Iceman website. Thanks Brian, I know you have had a lot to contend with recently and I appreciate your help.

Thanks also to Graham McCusker who provided the TT Iceman Trophy.

My final personal thanks go to Jeremy for an outstanding 2 weeks work - Well done Jeremy
